This summer, Developing Diplomacy initiated fundraising to support children in Iraq, raising enough to provide 40 backpack kits filled with essential stationary and school supplies. During a recent trip to Kurdistan, Kaizar Doriwala, founder of Developing Diplomacy, met with executives at the Barzani Charity Foundation to discuss partnership opportunities. Founded in 2005, BCF is a prominent non-governmental, non-political and non-profit organization based in Erbil, the capital city of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI).
BCF actively supports nine refugee/IDP camps around Iraq and has established itself as one of the leading charitable organizations in Kurdistan. Notably, 100% of BCF donations go directly toward aiding refugees and IDPs in need, with no funds allocated to administrative expenses.
In November 2024, BCF visited schools within these camps to distribute Developing Diplomacy backpacks filled with school supplies.
As BCF highlighted, “these items not only ease the financial burden on families but also empower students to approach their education with confidence and pride.”
By working together, both organizations aim to foster hope and opportunity for children in refugee and IDP camps, helping them overcome challenges and focus on their futures in a post-war region.
