DEVELOPING DIPLOMACY

 Take Action

Developing Diplomacy delivered over 50 activity kits to children living in the Shariya IDP Camp in Northern Iraq with the help of the Enabling Peace in Iraq (EPIC) organization and program officers based in Erbil. Needs were identified for school supplies including colored pencils, erasers, and markers as well as toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Through generous donations by the Developing Diplomacy community and followers, we were able to raise sufficient funds to buy, pack and ship the kits to Iraq in April 2024. We are looking to start our next fundraise in late 2024 for similar items to be delivered to other refugee camps in the area.

The need is immediate and real. Children in Iraq and other conflict zones around the world lack basic necessities including food and water and over half the refugees in the world are children according to UNHCR. Many times these innocent victims of conflict are quickly forgotten by the world in the aftermath of war. Global organizations fighting for these children are doing their best to keep up but are quickly succumbing to the sheer increase in conflicts. Developing Diplomacy hopes to continue making a small difference one activity kit at a time and encourage other young adults to take action in helping refugee children around the world.
